Marjorie G. DiLima was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1995, the Court of Appeals of Maryland in 1995, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland in 1996, and the U.S. Tax Court in 2000.   She received her J.D. from Hamline University, graduating cum laude, and her LL.M. in Taxation (a Masters in Law) from Georgetown University School of Law.  She is a graduate of Metropolitan State College and received her M.B.A. from St. Thomas University in 1994. 

Marjorie is a member of the Montgomery County, Maryland State, American, and Women's Bar Associations, as well as formerly a member of the Maryland Bankruptcy Bar.  Marjorie has served on the Executive Committee of the Montgomery County Bar Association since 2004/2005 and serves as co-chair of the New Practitioner's Section of the Montgomery County Bar.  Marjorie is also a member of the Family Law Section of the Montgomery County Bar and is a member of the American Inns of Court (Barrister, former Associate).  Currently, Marjorie participates in Peer Review Panels for the Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland. 

Marjorie has received several honors for her work, including lifetime recognition from and inclusion in the Metropolitan Who's Who Registry for her outstanding leadership and achievement in her field.  In 2007, Marjorie was elected as a Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation for her outstanding committment to the welfare of the community, the administration of justice, and the traditions of the people's law.  In 2006, Marjorie was inducted into the Montgomery County Maryland Bar Foundation as a Leader, and has received the Montgomery County, Maryland Bar Foundation Award for the Extraordinary Commitment to the Delivery of Legal Services in 1999, 2001, and 2003.

Marjorie has completed training in Collaborative Divorce Law, Civil Mediation, and representing children as a Best Interest Attorney.

During law school, Marjorie served as Judicial Clerk Intern to Hon. R.A. Randall on the Minnesota Court of Appeals, served as Production Editor of the Hamiline Journal of Public Law and Policy, and authored Eroding the Resource Conservation Recovery Act's Scienter Requirement Regarding Responsible Corporate Offices (14 Hamline J. Pub. L. Pol'y 49, 1993).  Marjorie also received the American Jurisprudence Award for Legal Research and Writing.

Marjorie began her career as a solo practitioner from which she built a healthy practice and hundreds of professional relationships.  Marjorie was recruited by Fait & Wise, LLP in January, 2003 as an associate and became Managing Partner in June, 2006.  Since then she has proved a committed member of our team, focused on providing our clients with the best of her considerable knowledge and expertise and has continued to build the practice and increase our professional relationships.  Marjorie has concentrated a portion of her practice on issues arising from alcohol and drug abuse effects on the family and children.

Marjorie has accomplished a lifelong goal by running the Marine Corp Marathon in 2006 while raising money for AIDS research. In 2007, Marjorie raised money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (Team In Training) and ran the Marine Corp Marathon for a second time at the end of October, 2007.
